Life of Antony
The Death of Antony
When he had said this and they had kissed him, he lifted up his feet; and as though he saw friends coming to him and was glad because of them—for as he lay there his face looked joyful—he died and was gathered to the fathers. Then, as he had commanded, they wrapped him up and buried him, hiding his body underground. And to this day no one knows where it was buried, except those two alone. Each of those who received a sheepskin of the blessed Antony, and the garment he had worn, keeps it as a precious treasure. For even to look at them is like seeing Antony, and whoever wears them seems to carry his counsels with joy.
