Martinian’s Daughter Is Healed

When he had withdrawn and resolved to set a time after which he would neither go out himself nor let anyone in, Martinian, a military officer, came and disturbed him. For he had a daughter afflicted by an evil spirit. He went on knocking at the door for a long time, asking Antony to come out and pray to God for his child. Antony could not bring himself to open, but looked out from above and said, “Man, why are you calling on me? I too am a man, just as you are. But if you believe in Christ, whom I serve, go, and pray to God as you believe, and it will come to pass.” At once, then, he went away, believing and calling on Christ, and he received his daughter back cleansed of the demon.
