Keep to the Path You Have Chosen
So it is good and profitable for each one to strive with all his might and strength to reach perfection in the work he has begun, following the path he has chosen according to the grace he has received. While he praises and admires the virtues of others, he should not swerve from his own path, which he has chosen once for all. For he knows, as the apostle says, that the body of the Church is one but the members are many, and that it has “gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: if prophecy, in proportion to the faith; if ministry, in ministering; the one who teaches, in teaching; the one who exhorts, in exhortation; the one who gives, in simplicity; the one who leads, with care; the one who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” No members can claim the tasks of other members, because the eyes cannot do the work of the hands, nor the nostrils that of the ears. And so not all are apostles, not all are prophets, not all are teachers; not all have gifts of healing, not all speak in tongues, not all interpret.
