Germanus Asks About the Angels and the Daughters of Men
A passage of Genesis was brought up among us a little while ago, by the providence of God, and happily reminded us that now is a good time to ask about a point we have always longed to learn. We want to know what view we ought to take of those fallen angels who are said to have had intercourse with the daughters of men, and whether such a thing can literally happen with a spiritual nature. And there is also the passage of the Gospel you quoted about the devil a little while ago, “for he is a liar, and his father.” In the same way we would like to hear who is meant by “his father.”
