Letter 76: The Answer of Felix, Jader, Polianus, and the Rest of the Martyrs, to Cyprian
From the Mine at Sigua
To Cyprian, our dearest and best loved: from Felix, Jader, and Polianus, together with the elders and everyone staying with us at the mine of Sigua — everlasting greetings in the Lord.
We are writing back to your greeting, dearest brother, by Herennianus the subdeacon and our brothers Lucian and Maximus, who came through safe and sound by the help of your prayers. From them we received a sum of money sent under the name of an offering, along with the letter you wrote, in which you were good enough to comfort us out of the words of heaven as though we were your own sons.
And we have thanked God the Father Almighty through his Christ, and we go on thanking him, that we have been comforted and strengthened like this by what you said to us. Out of the open generosity of your heart we ask that you would be willing to keep us in mind in your unbroken prayers, so that the Lord may fill up what is still lacking in your confession and in ours — the confession he has seen fit to grant us.
Greet everyone who is with you. We wish you well always and from the heart, dearest brother, in God. I, Felix, wrote this out. I, Jader, signed it. I, Polianus, read it over. I send my greetings to my lord Eutychianus.
