A Festal Letter from the Waves of Despair

Our divine and saving celebrations cheer the downhearted and make the joyful more joyful still. I have learned this by experience: when I was overwhelmed by the waves of despair, I rose above the surge at the sight of the harbor of the feast. May your piety pray that I may be rescued completely from this storm, and that our loving Lord may grant me to forget my sorrow.
