Pinytus the Bishop

Pinytus of Crete, bishop of the city of Knossos, wrote a very elegant letter to Dionysius, bishop of the Corinthians. In it he teaches that the people are not to be fed on milk forever, in case the last day should by chance overtake them while they are still infants. They ought to be fed on solid food as well, so that they may grow on to a spiritual old age. He flourished in the reign of Marcus Antoninus Verus and Lucius Aurelius Commodus.
