Gennadius
Vincent the Gaul
Vincent, a Gaul, presbyter in the monastery on the island of Lerins, was a man learned in the Holy Scriptures and very well informed in the teaching of the church. He composed a powerful disputation in fairly finished and clear language, and, suppressing his own name, he entitled it Peregrinus against the Heretics. When the greater part of the second book of this work had been stolen, he composed a brief summary of the substance of the original work and published it in one book. He died in the reign of Theodosius and Valentinian.
