Gennadius
Victorinus the Teacher of Rhetoric
Victorinus, a teacher of rhetoric at Marseilles, wrote for his son Etherius a commentary On Genesis, that is, from the beginning of the book to the death of the patriarch Abraham, and he published four books in verse. Their words have a savor of piety, indeed, but since he was a man busy with secular literature and quite untrained in the Divine Scriptures, they carry little weight as far as ideas are concerned. He died in the reign of Theodosius and Valentinian.
