Gennadius
Leporius the Presbyter
Leporius, first a monk and afterward a presbyter, began to follow the Pelagian teaching, relying on his own purity, achieved through his own free will and unaided effort, instead of depending on the help of God. But after he had been admonished by the teachers of Gaul and corrected by Augustine in Africa, he wrote a book of retraction, in which he both acknowledges his error and gives thanks for his correction. At the same time, to correct his false view of the incarnation of Christ, he set out the catholic view, confessing the one person of the Son of God and the two natures existing in Christ in his substance.
