Oresiesis the Monk

Oresiesis the monk, the colleague of both Pachomius and Theodore, a man thoroughly learned in Scripture, composed a book seasoned with divine salt and made up of the essentials of all monastic discipline. In it, to speak with restraint, almost the whole Old and New Testament is set out in compact discussions, at least everything that relates to the special needs of monks. He gave it to his brothers almost on the very day of his death, as a kind of legacy.
