Sophronius

Sophronius, a man of the highest learning, wrote In Praise of Bethlehem while he was still a boy, and recently a notable volume On the Overthrow of Serapis, and also To Eustochium, On Virginity, and a Life of Hilarion the Monk. He rendered short works of mine into Greek in a very finished style, and also the Psalter and the Prophets, which I translated from Hebrew into Latin. [a]
