Basil to Diodorus on Marrying Two Sisters
Canon 87. This contains the opening of Basil’s letter to Diodorus, bishop of Tarsus. In it he tells him of a letter that was shown to him, bearing Diodorus’s name, which defended a man’s marrying two sisters; but he hopes it was a forgery. Canon 88. This contains the rest of the letter, in which he argues against the practice and condemns it.
