The Treasury Must Give Back Church Property

“Nor will the treasury itself be allowed to keep any of the things we have spoken of, if it has any of them. Without daring, as it were, to raise its voice against the holy churches, it will rightly hand over to them what it has for a time wrongly kept. We therefore order that everything shown to belong rightfully to the churches, whether the property consists of houses, or fields and gardens, or whatever else it may be, be restored to them at its full value and intact, with their right of ownership undiminished.
