Release from Exile, Court Duty and Loss of Property

“Let all, therefore, who have exchanged their country for a foreign land because they would not abandon the reverence and faith toward God to which they had devoted themselves with their whole hearts, and who have for that reason at various times come under the cruel sentence of the courts, together with any who have been enrolled in the registers of the public courts though in the past they were exempt from that duty, let these, I say, now give thanks to God the Liberator of all, since they are restored to their inherited property and their accustomed peace. Let those also who have been stripped of their goods, and have until now lived a wretched life mourning the loss of all they had, be restored once more to their former homes, their families and their estates, and receive with joy the generous kindness of God.
