He Writes to the King of Persia on Behalf of the Christians There

The king of the Persians, too, showed that he wanted an alliance with Constantine, and sent an embassy and gifts as pledges of peace and friendship. In arranging this treaty the emperor far outdid the monarch who had first honored him, by the splendor with which he answered his gifts. He also heard that there were many churches of God in Persia, and that great numbers there were gathered into the flock of Christ. Full of joy at this news, he resolved to extend his concern for the general welfare to that country too, as one whose aim was to care for all people alike in every nation.
