He Orders a Church Built at the Place of the Resurrection

After these things the devout emperor set himself to another work in the province of Palestine, one truly worth recording. What, then, was this work? He judged it his duty to make the blessed place of our Savior’s resurrection a place that would draw all people and be revered by all. So he at once gave orders for a house of prayer to be built on that spot. And he did this not from a mere natural impulse of his own mind, but because he was moved in spirit by the Savior himself.
