Book 2
The Armenians and the Persians Turn to Christ
After this the Christian religion became known to the neighboring tribes and spread very widely. The Armenians, I understand, were the first to embrace Christianity. It is said that Tiridates, who was then ruler of that nation, became a Christian through a marvelous divine sign worked in his own house, and that he had a herald command all his subjects to take up the same religion. I think the conversion of the Persians began through their dealings with the people of Osrhoene and with the Armenians, for it is likely that they would talk with such godly men and come to know their virtue by experience.
