Lucifer and Eusebius

About the same time Lucifer and Eusebius were recalled by imperial order from their banishment in the Upper Thebaid. The first was bishop of Cagliari, a city of Sardinia; the second was bishop of Vercelli, a city of the Ligurians in Italy, as I said earlier. So these two bishops consulted together on the most effective way to keep the neglected canons and discipline of the church from being broken and despised in the future. [a]
