Domitian and David’s Descendants

When this same Domitian ordered the descendants of David to be put to death, an old tradition holds that some of the heretics accused the descendants of Jude, said to have been the Savior’s brother according to the flesh, on the ground that they were of David’s family and related to Christ himself. Hegesippus shows this word for word, speaking somewhat as follows. [a]
