The Church History, Book 3
Clement’s Letter to Corinth
Of this Clement there is one acknowledged letter, great and remarkable, which he composed in the name of the church of Rome to the church of Corinth, when a faction had arisen at Corinth at that time. We know that this letter too has been put to public use in very many churches, both long ago and in our own day. And that the Corinthians were stirred up by faction at the time in question, Hegesippus is a trustworthy witness.
