Firmilian and the Bishops Honor Origen

Firmilian showed such devotion to Origen that at times he called him to his own region to help the churches, and at times he traveled to Judea himself and stayed with him a while, to grow in the things of God. Alexander, who presided at Jerusalem, and Theoctistus of Caesarea attended him the whole time as their only teacher, and let him interpret the divine Scriptures and carry out the rest of the work of speaking in the church.
