The Other Works of Irenaeus

Besides the writings and letters of Irenaeus that we have listed, there is extant a discourse of his against the Greeks, very concise and most necessary, entitled On Knowledge. There is another, which he dedicated to a brother named Marcian, for a demonstration of the apostolic preaching; and a book of various discourses, in which he mentions the Letter to the Hebrews and the so-called Wisdom of Solomon, quoting passages from them. These are the works of Irenaeus that have come to our knowledge. Commodus ended his reign after thirteen years, and Severus became emperor less than six months after the death of Commodus, Pertinax having ruled in between.
