The Church History, Book 4
Apollinaris of Hierapolis
Many works of Apollinaris are preserved by many people, and those that have reached us are these: the discourse addressed to the emperor already mentioned; five books Against the Greeks; On Truth, a first and second book; Against the Jews, a first and second book; and the works he wrote after these against the heresy of the Phrygians. Not long afterward that heresy came out with its innovations, but at that time it was only beginning to sprout, while Montanus, with his false prophetesses, was making the first moves in his departure from the truth.
