Reuel Comes to Sinai

When Reuel, Moses’ father-in-law, learned how well things were going for him, he gladly came to meet him, welcoming Moses, Zipporah and their children. Moses was glad at his father-in-law’s coming. He offered sacrifice and made a feast for the people near the bush that had escaped the burning of the fire, and the whole multitude, each by their families, shared in the feast. Aaron, with those who were there, took Reuel with them and sang hymns to God, as the author and giver of their deliverance and their freedom. They also praised their leader, by whose virtue everything had gone well for them. Reuel, too, spoke at length in praise of the people for their gratitude to Moses, and he could not help admiring Moses for the courage he had shown in rescuing his friends.
