Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1
The Death of Isaac
From there Jacob came to Hebron, a city situated among the Canaanites, where Isaac lived, and so they lived together for a short while; as for Rebekah, Jacob did not find her alive. Isaac also died not long after his son’s arrival, and was buried by his sons, with his wife, in Hebron, where they had a tomb that had come down to them from their forefathers. Isaac was a man loved by God, and after Abraham his father he was granted great proofs of God’s providence. He lived to a very great age; for when he had lived virtuously for 185 years, he died.
