Andries N., in the Year 1570

In this same year 1570, a brother named Andries N. was also arrested in Haarlem for his faith and the truth. He was tortured very cruelly for three hours, but even so, then as well as in other temptations and sufferings, he always held steadfastly to his faith. Finally he was sentenced to death and burned, and so, as a valiant soldier of the Lord, he fought a good fight. Therefore he is worthy not only to be remembered here as an example and a perpetual memorial, but also to inherit the kingdom of his heavenly Father, which is prepared for all the pious.
