Andries N., with his Father and Brother, in the Year 1570

In this same year also a brother named Andries N., because he had died to the world and entered the service of God, was arrested at Antwerp, and about the same time his father and brother as well. Imprisoned together, they rejoiced in the Lord that they were counted worthy to suffer for His name, which they also boldly confessed before the secular rulers, and they made a good profession of their faith, to which they firmly held, in spite of the sufferings or harassment which, by cunning, promises and threats, were inflicted on them for this reason; so that they persevered to the end in the truth, in the true faith, and in love to God. All three were then sentenced and burned, and so, offering up their sacrifice as a sweet-smelling savor to God, they helped to fulfill the number of their brothers who had gone before.
