Dirk Andriess, in the Year 1569

Dirk Andriess, a pious and God-fearing brother, was arrested at Zierickzee in the year 1569; and since in all temptations and sufferings he held firmly to the love of Christ, he was finally sentenced to death as a heretic. And so, in order to follow Christ, who had died a bitter death for him, he too gladly gave up his temporal life to death for the Lord's sake, to enter with Him into eternal life. Matthew 25, verse 46.
