Felistis Jans, Surnamed Resinx

FELISTIS JANS, SURNAMED RESINX, BURNED AT AMSTERDAM, FOR THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST, ON THE 16TH OF JANUARY, IN THE YEAR 1553

On the same day, in the court, and for the same reason, a certain maiden named Felistis Jans, surnamed Resinx, a native of Vreden in Westphalia, was also sentenced to the fire. This appears from the written sentence we have concerning it, taken from the original criminal records of the city of Amsterdam, and likewise the date when she was tortured. We could set all of it down here word for word; but to avoid length, we will briefly draw out the substance of it, making distinct divisions, so that it may be clearly seen on what her death was founded.
