Andrew Kofler, in the Year 1545

In the year 1545, one Andrew Kofler from Etschland was also arrested for the faith and the divine truth at Ips, on the Danube. Since he would not renounce, and the priests and false prophets could not make him apostatize, he was sentenced to death by the children of Pilate and handed over to the executioner, who put him to death with the sword, and so satisfied the ungodly. So he valiantly confessed and testified to the truth of God even to death, and has now gone on ahead into eternal light and life, and rests in Abraham's bosom, indeed, under the altar, under which those lie who have been beheaded and slain for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, until the number of their fellow brothers who are also to be killed as they were is fulfilled.
