Hans Simeraver, in the Year 1540

In the year 1540, Brother Hans Simeraver was imprisoned for the divine truth at Schwatz, in the valley of the Inn; but since they could not draw him away from his faith, nor refute him with the holy Scriptures, they handed him over to their high priest, the executioner, who had to lead him out and overcome him. So he was executed with the sword, and sealed his faith in God with his blood, thus resisting even to blood, or striving against sin and the abomination of desolation. Hebrews 12, verse 4; Matthew 24, verse 15. Therefore, on Mount Sion, among the great number of those who testified to and confessed the name of God in the world, he too will receive a palm in his hands, and will be crowned with the unfading crown of life. Second Esdras 2, verse 45; Second Timothy 4, verse 8.
