Old Book of the Martyrs Mirror: 1530s
Conrad Feichter, and Several Others, in the Year 1532
In this year Conrad Feichter was also arrested for the faith, at Stertzing, and much pain was inflicted on him. He was so racked and stretched that the ungodly executioners and children of Pilate themselves thought that he could not endure it, but would be torn apart. There were also some imprisoned with him, and they were greatly tempted by a multitude of priests and others, by the perverting of the Scriptures, with knavery, craftiness, deceit and delusion, in order to subdue them; an attempt was also made to win them by promising to leave them in possession of home, wife, children, and life. But since they could by no means turn them from the truth, they sentenced them and executed them at once; and so they steadfastly testified to the truth with their blood.
