Daniel Kopf, with Two Brothers and Four Sisters, in the Year 1529

Daniel Kopf, a minister of the Word, was arrested with six other people, at Bairisch Graitz, in Steyermark; he and two brothers were sentenced to the sword, while the four sisters were drowned. They testified with their body and life, that this is the true way (Matthew 7, verse 14; John 14, verse 6) to eternal life in Christ Jesus, and though the executioner, fire, water and the sword sought to turn them away, they would nevertheless hold to it as long as breath remained in them. Of this Daniel, writings are also still preserved in the church, concerning baptism, and other points; as well as four hymns composed by him.
