Severe Inquisition Against the Believers

SEVERE INQUISITION AGAINST THE BELIEVERS, ABOUT THE YEAR 1501

The inquisition of which we gave an account in the first book, for the year 1492, continued against the orthodox believers, as is firmly believed, even until this time; so that many who were subjected to it, and remained steadfast, had to let themselves be put to death. In the sight of God they came to an honorable end, but in the eyes of the world to a shameful and no less miserable one; yet hereafter they will, with Christ their Savior (who went before them in this), be clothed with everlasting honor and joy, indeed, be crowned as victorious kings in the heavenly Zion, according to His promise

"Be faithful until death, and I will give you a crown of life." Revelation 2, verse 10.
