Henry Gutwol of Lehnmer, in the Year 1639

Two days and one month after the arrest of the last-mentioned witness of Jesus Christ, namely, on the 25th of October, 1639, Henry Gutwol, of Lehnmer, from the Knonow Bailiwick, also died in the dungeon Othenbach, very miserably, yet with a steadfast and joyful mind, after he had suffered much want, poverty and misery there. This painful and long-drawn misery, which ended in his death, shall be returned to him hereafter, because of his steadfastness in the truth he had accepted, in an eternal, joyful and triumphant life, according to the Lord's promise: "Be faithful until death, and I will give you a crown of life." Revelation 2, verse 10. Compare both tracts, that of Mangold as well as that of Meyli; the one of the year 1645, the other of the year 1658, in the Swiss language, on the name Henry Gutwol.
