Isaiah
Isaiah 15
The Message against Moab
1 “The message against Moab. Moab will perish at night. Moab’s wall will perish at night.”
2 “Grieve for yourselves, because Dibon too will perish. You will go up to your altar there to weep. Wail over Nebo in Moab: every head will be shaved, and every arm will be cut.”
3 “Wrap yourselves in sackcloth in her public squares and mourn. Everyone will wail and weep on her roofs, streets, and roads.”
4 “Heshbon and Elealeh cried out, and their voice was heard as far as Jahaz. Therefore Moab’s whole body cries aloud, and her soul will know it.”
5 “Moab’s heart cries within her as far as Zoar, for she is like a three-year-old heifer. People climb the ascent of Luhith weeping, and on the road to Horonaim she cries, ‘Destruction and trembling!’”
6 “Nimrim’s water will become desolate, its grass will fail, and no green plant will remain.”
7 “Can Moab be rescued even now? I will bring Arabians against the valley, and they will take it.”
8 “The cry has reached Moab’s border at Eglaim, and her wailing has reached Beer-elim.”
9 “Rimmon’s water will be filled with blood. I will bring Arabians against Rimmon and remove Moab’s offspring, Ariel, and those who remain in Adama.”
