Song of Songs
Song of Songs 6
Gone Down to His Garden
1 My beloved went down into his garden, to the bowls of spices, to tend his flock in the gardens and gather lilies.
2 I belong to my beloved, and my beloved belongs to me; he tends his flock among the lilies.
Awe-Inspiring as Armies
3 You are beautiful, my companion, like Delight, lovely as Jerusalem, awe-inspiring as armies drawn up.
4 Turn your eyes away from me, for they have made me soar. Your hair is like herds of goats appearing from Gilead.
5 Your teeth are like flocks of newly shorn sheep coming up from the washing place, all bearing twins, with none among them barren.
6 Your lips are like a scarlet cord, and your speech is beautiful. Your cheek, apart from your silence, is like a slice of pomegranate.
My Dove Is Unique
7 There are sixty queens, eighty concubines, and young women beyond number.
8 My dove, my perfect one, is unique—unique to her mother, chosen by the woman who bore her. The daughters saw her and called her blessed; queens and concubines praised her.
9 Who is this looking out like dawn, beautiful as the moon, chosen as the sun, awe-inspiring as armies drawn up?
10 I went down into the walnut garden to see the produce beside the stream, to see whether the vine had blossomed and the pomegranates had flowered. There I will give you my breasts.
11 Before I knew it, my soul set me among the chariots of Amminadab.
Return, Shulamite
12 Return, return, Shulamite! Return, return, so we may look at you.
What will you see in the Shulamite?
She comes like dancing companies of armies.
