Song of Songs 4

Look, you are beautiful, my companion! Look, you are beautiful. Your eyes are doves, apart from your silence. Your hair is like herds of goats appearing from Gilead.

Your teeth are like flocks of newly shorn sheep coming up from the washing place, all bearing twins, with none among them barren.

Your lips are like a scarlet cord, and your speech is beautiful. Your cheek, apart from your silence, is like a slice of pomegranate.

Your neck is like David’s tower, built at Thalpioth; a thousand shields hang on it, all the weapons of warriors.

Your two breasts are like twin fawns of a gazelle grazing among lilies.

Until the day breathes and the shadows move, I will go to the mountain of myrrh and the hill of Lebanon.

You are entirely beautiful, my companion; there is no blemish in you.

Come from Lebanon, bride; come from Lebanon. You will come and pass from the summit of Faith, from the peaks of Senir and Hermon, from the lions’ dens and the leopards’ mountains.

You have given us courage, my sister, my bride. You have given us courage with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.

How beautiful your breasts are, my sister, my bride! How much better your breasts are than wine, and the scent of your garments than every spice!

Your lips drip honeycomb, bride; honey and milk are under your tongue, and the scent of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.

My sister, my bride, you are a locked garden, a locked garden, a sealed spring.

Your shoots are an orchard of pomegranates with choice fruit, henna with nard,

nard and saffron, cane and cinnamon, with every tree of Lebanon, myrrh, aloes, and all the finest perfume oils.

You are a garden spring, a well of living water rushing down from Lebanon.

Wake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow through my garden, and let my spices flow. Let my beloved come down into his garden and eat its choice fruit.
