Psalms
Psalms 146
Hallelujah, by Haggai and Zechariah.
1 My soul, praise the Lord!
2 I will praise the Lord during my life and make music to my God as long as I exist.
3 Do not trust rulers or human beings, who have no rescue.
4 His spirit will go out, and he will return to his earth; on that day all their thoughts will perish.
5 Blessed is the one whose helper is Jacob’s God and whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 who made heaven, earth, the sea, and everything in them, and who guards truth forever,
7 who carries out judgment for those wronged and gives food to the hungry. The Lord frees those who are bound.
8 The Lord raises those who are shattered; the Lord gives wisdom to the blind; the Lord loves the righteous.
9 The Lord guards newcomers; he will support orphan and widow and make the sinners’ way disappear.
10 The Lord will reign forever—your God, Zion, from generation to generation.
