Psalms 141

A psalm by David.

Lord, I cried out to you; listen to me. Pay attention to the voice of my plea when I cry out to you.
Let my prayer be set before you like incense, and the lifting of my hands like an evening sacrifice.
Set a guard over my mouth, Lord, and a door of restraint around my lips.
Do not incline my heart toward evil words, to make excuses for sins with people who practice lawlessness. I will not join their chosen ones.
A righteous person will discipline me with mercy and correct me, but do not let a sinner’s oil enrich my head, because even now my prayer is among the things that please them.
Their judges were swallowed beside a rock; they will hear my words, because they became pleasant.
Like a clod of earth broken apart on the ground, our bones were scattered beside Hades.
My eyes look to you, Lord, Lord; I trusted in you. Do not take away my soul.
Guard me from the trap they set for me and from the stumbling blocks of those who practice lawlessness.
Sinners will fall into his net. I am alone until I pass by.
