Psalms 136

Give thanks to the Lord, because he is kind, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the God of gods, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the Lord of lords, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the one who alone does great wonders, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the one who made the heavens with understanding, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the one who established the earth upon the waters, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the one who alone made great lights, because his mercy lasts forever:

the sun to rule the day, because his mercy lasts forever;

the moon and stars to rule the night, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the one who struck Egypt together with the Egyptians’ firstborn, because his mercy lasts forever,

and brought Israel out from their midst, because his mercy lasts forever,

with a strong hand and uplifted arm, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the one who divided the Red Sea into divisions, because his mercy lasts forever,

and led Israel through its midst, because his mercy lasts forever,

and hurled Pharaoh and his forces into the Red Sea, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the one who led his people through the wilderness, because his mercy lasts forever; who brought water out of a sheer rock, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the one who struck great kings, because his mercy lasts forever,

and killed powerful kings, because his mercy lasts forever:

Sihon king of the Amorites, because his mercy lasts forever,

and Og king of Bashan, because his mercy lasts forever,

and gave their land as an inheritance, because his mercy lasts forever,

an inheritance to Israel his servant, because his mercy lasts forever.

The Lord remembered us in our humiliation, because his mercy lasts forever,

and ransomed us from our enemies, because his mercy lasts forever.

He gives food to all flesh, because his mercy lasts forever.

Give thanks to the God of heaven, because his mercy lasts forever; give thanks to the Lord of lords, because his mercy lasts forever.
