Psalms 122

1 I rejoiced over those who said to me,

“We will go into the Lord’s house.”

2 Our feet were standing in your courts, Jerusalem.

3 Jerusalem is being built as a city joined together in fellowship.

4 There the tribes went up—the Lord’s tribes, a witness for Israel—to give thanks to the Lord’s name.

5 There thrones were set for judgment—thrones for David’s house.

6 Ask now for Jerusalem’s peace; may those who love you prosper.

7 May peace be within your strength and prosperity within your fortified towers.

8 For the sake of my brothers and my neighbors, I spoke of peace for you.

9 Because of the house of the Lord our God, I diligently sought good things for you.
