Psalms 116

Hallelujah.

I loved, because the Lord will hear the voice of my plea,
because he inclined his ear to me, and I will call upon him during my days.
The pains of death surrounded me, and the dangers of Hades found me. I found affliction and pain.
Then I called upon the Lord’s name: “Lord, rescue my soul!”
The Lord is merciful and righteous, and our God shows mercy.
The Lord guards infants. I was humbled, and he saved me.
My soul, return to your rest, because the Lord treated you well,
because he rescued my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from slipping.
I will please the Lord in the land of the living.

Hallelujah.

I trusted, and therefore I spoke, but I was greatly humbled.
I said in my amazement, “Every human being is a liar.”
What will I repay the Lord for everything he repaid me?
I will take the cup of rescue and call upon the Lord’s name.
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord before all his people.
The death of his holy ones is precious before the Lord.
Lord, I am your servant; I am your servant and the son of your female servant. You tore apart my bonds.
I will sacrifice a sacrifice of praise to you.
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord before all his people,
in the courts of the Lord’s house, in your midst, Jerusalem.
