Psalms 114

When Israel departed from Egypt, when Jacob’s house departed from a foreign-speaking people,

Judea became his sanctuary and Israel his dominion.

The sea saw and fled; the Jordan turned back.

The mountains skipped like rams and the hills like lambs among sheep.

What happened to you, sea, that you fled, and to you, Jordan, that you turned back?

What happened, mountains, that you skipped like rams, and hills, like lambs among sheep?

The earth shook before the Lord, before the God of Jacob,

who turned the rock into pools of water and flint into springs of water.
