Psalms
Psalms 108
A song of a psalm by David.
1 My heart is ready, God; my heart is ready. I will sing and make music in my glory.
2 Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake at dawn.
3 Lord, I will give thanks to you among peoples and make music to you among nations,
4 because your mercy is great above the heavens and your truth reaches the clouds.
5 Be exalted above the heavens, God, and may your glory be over all the earth.
6 So your beloved ones may be rescued, save with your right hand and hear me.
7 God spoke in his holy place:
“I will be exalted and divide Shechem, and I will measure out the Valley of Tents.
8 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine. Ephraim is the support of my head; Judah is my king.
9 Moab is the basin of my hope. I will extend my sandal over Edom; the Philistines became subject to me.”
10 Who will lead me into a fortified city? Who will guide me as far as Edom?
11 Will it not be you, God, who rejected us? Will you not go out with our armies, God?
12 Give us help from affliction, because human rescue is futile.
13 Through God we will act with power, and he will treat our enemies as nothing.
