Psalms
Psalms 101
A psalm by David.
1 I will sing to you, Lord, about mercy and judgment.
2 I will make music and act wisely in a blameless way. When will you come to me? I walked in the innocence of my heart within my house.
3 I did not set any lawbreaking thing before my eyes. I hated those who committed transgressions.
4 A crooked heart did not cling to me. I did not know an evil person when he turned away from me.
5 I drove away anyone who secretly spoke against his neighbor. I did not eat with anyone whose gaze was proud and whose heart was insatiable.
6 My eyes will be on the faithful of the land, so they may live with me. The one who walked in a blameless way served me.
7 One who practiced arrogance did not live within my house. One who spoke unjustly did not prosper before my eyes.
8 Morning after morning I killed all the sinners of the land, to destroy from the Lord’s city everyone who practices lawlessness.
