Psalms 96

When the house was built after the captivity. A song by David.

Sing a new song to the Lord; sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord and bless his name; announce the good news of his rescue from day to day.
Proclaim his glory among the nations and his wonderful works among all peoples.
The Lord is great, highly praised, and awe-inspiring above all gods.
All the nations’ gods are demons, but the Lord made the heavens.
Thanksgiving and beauty are before him; holiness and majesty are in his sanctuary.
Families of nations, bring to the Lord; bring glory and honor to the Lord.
Bring the Lord the glory due his name; lift sacrifices and enter his courts.
Bow down to the Lord in his holy court; let all the earth tremble before his face.
Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.” He established the inhabited world, which will not be shaken; he will judge peoples with uprightness.
Let the heavens rejoice and the earth celebrate; let the sea and everything in it be shaken.
The plains and everything in them will rejoice; then all the trees of the thicket will celebrate
before the Lord, because he comes—he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the inhabited world in righteousness and peoples in his truth.
