Psalms
Psalms 85
For the end. A psalm by the sons of Korah.
Lord, you delighted in your land and restored Jacob from captivity.
You forgave your people’s lawlessness and covered all their sins. Pause.
You put an end to all your wrath and turned from your furious anger.
Restore us, God of our rescues, and turn your anger away from us.
Will you be angry with us forever, or extend your anger from generation to generation?
God, when you turn back, you will give us life, and your people will rejoice in you.
Show us your mercy, Lord, and give us your rescue.
I will listen to what the Lord God will speak within me, because he will speak peace over his people, over those who are holy to him, and over those who turn their heart toward him.
His rescue is certainly near those who fear him, so that glory may dwell in our land.
Mercy and truth met together; righteousness and peace kissed.
Truth sprang from the earth, and righteousness looked down from heaven.
The Lord will give kindness, and our land will give its fruit.
Righteousness will go before him and set his steps on the way.
