Psalms 84

For the end, concerning the winepresses. A psalm by the sons of Korah.

How beloved are your dwellings, Lord of armies!
My soul longs and faints for the Lord’s courts; my heart and flesh rejoiced in the living God.
Even a sparrow found a home for itself, and a turtledove found a nest where she may place her young—your altars, Lord of armies, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who live in your house; they will praise you forever and ever. Pause.
Blessed is the man whose help comes from you, Lord; he set ascents in his heart
through the Valley of Weeping to the place he appointed, for the lawgiver will also give blessings.
They will go from strength to strength; the God of gods will be seen in Zion.
Lord God of armies, listen to my prayer; hear me, Jacob’s God. Pause.
God our defender, see and look upon the face of your anointed one.
One day in your courts is better than thousands. I chose to be cast aside in God’s house rather than live in sinners’ dwellings.
The Lord God loves mercy and truth; he will give favor and glory. The Lord will not withhold good things from those who walk in innocence.
Lord of armies, blessed is the person who trusts in you.
